Safety Links:
Special programs provided by the
department include a smoke detector program to provide smoke detectors
to those who do not have one, Fire Department tours, fire safety
demonstrations, and informative presentations provided to elementary
schools, various youth organizations, churches, and local civic
organizations. The department
provides Fire and Life Safety inspections to ensure safety for the businesses,
residents and visitors within the City. The Florida Fire Prevention Code
mandates that all business occupancies should be
inspected on an regular basis. If you are a local business and would like

Safe
Place
is a runaway prevention, outreach and education program
that provides immediate help to youth in crisis. The
purpose is to provide young people with emergency access
to intervention and prevention services. Whether youth
have run away from home, are at risk of abuse or
neglect, or are in need of respite from out-of-control
family relationships, they can request assistance and be
served at any Safe Place site. Please visit

The
Safe Haven Law
allows for mothers, fathers or whoever is in possession
of an unharmed newborn, approximately three days old or
less, to leave them at Safe Havens: any hospital,
staffed fire rescue station, or staffed emergency
medical service station, with no questions asked,
totally anonymous, free from fear of prosecution. Please
