Construction News!
 The parking pavers are in! The patio should be completed by September 3.  All are invited to stop by the library and check out our improvements.
Thank you to all of our patrons for your patience during this dusty summer at the library.
 

The library is open with full services including internet.

 
Items from any library in the Lake County Library System may be returned to the Minneola Library during operating hours. Books only, may be returned 24 hours a day to the book drop box located on the north side of the library (near Pearl Street). 

MINNEOLA LIBRARY HAPPENINGS!

READERS: ENJOY A HAPPY ENDING TO YOUR SUMMER WITH A GREAT ROMANCE BOOK!

After attending the Romance Writer's of America conference on 7/28 in Orlando, the Minneola Librarians have "revamped" and expanded the paperback romance section of the library. All romance readers are invited to stop in to pick up some great "reads!" Let us know if you are interested in joining a romance readers book group beginning this fall. The library hours are Mondays-Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

FALL FAMILY STORYTIME BEGINS ON SEPTEMBER 1ST Children ages 0-4 years and their parents/caregivers are invited to a weekly storytime every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the library. We will be instituting some special events on Wednesday this fall, which will include at least one monthly craft activity. No registration is necessary. All are welcome.

COUPONING BRAINSTORM SESSION PART II ON SEPTEMBER 18, 2010 As promised, we are happy to welcome back Ms. Gail Smit and others for an updated session of some great techniques for saving money on groceries, personal care items and more! Bring your ideas to this fun Saturday morning workshop at Minneola Library on September 18th at 10:00 a.m. Due to limited space, registration is necessary for this workshop. Light refreshments will be served. Call the library 352-432-3921 or email mmcguire@minneola.us<mailto:mmcguire@minneola.us> to register by 9/17. The library is located at 100 S. Main Avenue in Minneola.

LIBRARY EVENT UPDATES

The Ice Cream Social was a huge success! Many thanks to the Ritter Ice Cream Company for bringing the mobile ice cream truck to the library,and the Minneola Friends of the Library for a great ice cream social on 8/6/2010. 34 people attended and enjoyed ice cream sundaes!

 

NEW PROGRAMS:

Magazine Exchange: The library has a free magazine exchange. Take one, and bring one of your favorite magazines.
 
Free Coupons: The library has free coupons for anyone who wants to check our coupon bin

 

Friends of the Library: The Friends of the Minneola Library meet on the second Friday of the month at 10:00 a.m. All are welcome to attend. For more information call Mary Kay McGuire, Library Manager at 352-432-3921.
 
The Front Porch Book Club: The Front Porch Book Club will meet on the third Friday of the month at 10:00 a.m.
Front Porch Book Club News:
 The Club will be discussing the following books:                                                             9/17 at 10 a.m. Hotel at the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford

Basic Computer lessons are available  on Friday mornings by appointment. Call for more information.
 
Adult Literacy Program: The library participates in the Lake County Literacy Program by recruiting tutors and adult students who would like to improve their literacy skills. Call the library for more information.
