Important Information Regarding Hurricane Ian

If you experience an emergency during the storm, please call 911. Please contact the Lake County Emergency Operations Center at (352) 253-9999 for general storm related inquiries. Sandbags will remain available at Trailhead Park, located at 315 Madison Street, until winds become too dangerous to be outside. Sand and sandbags will be provided.  Please bring your own shovels.  Recycling and solid waste will not be collected Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday but collection is expected to resume on Monday depending on the severity of the storm.

In order to minimize the potential for flying debris, please do not place cut limbs, branches, or bulk waste by the road. Additionally, please secure all loose objects including, but not limited to basketball goals, flags, grills, lawn furniture, temporary yard signs, trash cans, yard ornaments, etc. inside of your garage or other safe location. Wash and fill your tubs, sinks, and even your washing machine with emergency water.  Please shelter inside your home and do not go outside or drive on the roadways during the storm and shortly after the storm until the roadways are cleared and made safe from downed trees, powerlines, and other dangers.  Please visit: www.lakecountyfl.gov and follow the link to their hurricane guide for further information including shelter locations and additional sandbag locations.  You can also like City of Minneola on Facebook or signup for email notifications through our website for future updates.
