Solid Waste Services
General
Residential waste collection and disposal services are provided to the City's residents through GFL Environmental Services, Inc. The charge for this service is included with the monthly utility bill.
Waste Collection Schedules (Routes)
The City has is organized into two separate collection schedules.
The following neighborhoods have household waste collection services on Monday & Thursday, yard waste collection services on Monday, and recycling collection services on Wednesday:
Ardmore Reserve, Chelsea Parc, Country Ridge, East Ridge, High Pointe, Hills of Minneola, Hodges, Lakewood Ridge, Parkside, Pine Bluff, Reserve at Minneola, etc.
The following neighborhoods have household waste collection services on Tuesday & Friday, yard waste collection services on Tuesday, and recycling collection services on Wednesday:
Apshawa View, Highland Oaks, Highland Ridge, Oak Valley, Park Ridge, Quail Valley, Ridgecrest Loop, Sugarloaf Mountain, etc.
Solid Waste Collection
- Frequency: Twice per week.
- Containers: Use the provided 96-gallon garbage cart with the City of Minneola logo.
- Placement: Place carts at the curb, pavement, or edge of the roadway at the designated collection time. Lids must close completely, and bins should not be overfilled.
- Prohibited Items: Do not dispose of hazardous materials, electronics, or construction debris in the solid waste containers.
- Timing: Collection occurs between 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Yard Debris Collection
- Frequency: Once per week, on the first waste pick up day of the week. (Either Monday or Tuesday, depending on the pick-up schedule.)
- Preparation: Bundle branches, twigs, and loose debris securely, ensuring they are no longer than 4-5 feet, no wider than 5-6 inches in diameter, and weigh no more than 50 pounds. Place leaves and grass clippings in biodegradable bags. Yard debris should not be placed in the solid waste containers, it must be bundled or bagged.
- Placement: Set yard debris at the curb, pavement, or edge of the roadway separate from solid waste and recycling.
Recycling Collection
- Frequency: Once per week.
- Containers: Use the provided 64-gallon recycling cart with the contractor's logo and RFID technology.
- Accepted Items: Clean paper, cardboard, plastic bottles (excluding automotive, food, or toxic chemical bottles), aluminum cans, and glass containers (all colors).
- Non-Accepted Items: Do not include plastic bags, Styrofoam, contaminated materials, or non-recyclable items.
- Preparation: Rinse containers to remove food residue and flatten boxes to save space.
- Placement: Place recycling carts at the curb, pavement, or edge of the roadway.
Bulk Waste Collection
- Frequency: Once per week on a scheduled collection day. Items set out on other days will be picked up within 48 hours (or on the next collection day if set out on Friday).
- Placement: Place bulky waste at the curbside or near the edge of the roadway.
Additional Information
- Automobile Tires: Up to 4 tires per year can be collected at no extra charge. Additional tires may incur a fee.
- Missed Pickups: Replacement pickups will be provided within 24 hours of notification.

Bulk Waste
Bulk waste, including furniture and household appliances, will be collected as needed. Residents may also contact GFL Environmental Services, Inc. at (352) 508-4741 to schedule a bulk waste collection. Please allow up to forty-eight (48) hours, excluding weekends and holidays, for the bulk waste to be collected.
Excluded Waste & Recycling
Waste excluded from collection includes waste products generated from land clearing, building construction or alteration, or yard waste generated by a contractor or otherwise created by someone other than the person(s) residing at the home or originated from property other than the location where the waste is placed at the curb for collection.
Recycling excluded from collection includes glass or plastic bottles and jars that previously held automotive, food, or toxic chemicals, glass or plastic bottles that are not rinsed clean with lids and labels removed, or cardboard that is not clean.
Holidays
Waste Services will not be Provided on the Following Holidays:
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Memorial Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
- New Year's Day
When a Holiday falls on a regularly scheduled collection day the service will be provided on the following regular scheduled day.
