Fence Zoning Clearance Application
A Zoning Clearance and Building Permit is required for all fences and no fence shall be constructed, repaired, or replaced until a clearance and permit has been issued along with fees paid. FEES ARE CASH AND CHECK ONLY.
There are two forms required when applying to install a fence. They are the Zoning Clearance Application and the Building Permit Application. These forms need to be submitted in person to the Zoning Department along with a copy of the Property Record Card or recorded warranty deed, this can be found on the Lake County Property Appraisers website. One copy of the property's survey needs to be submitted indicating where the fence will be installed. Please note: survey has to be detailed to show exactly what is being installed. This is what the builder inspector sees.
If a contractor is submitting the paperwork for the homeowner, we will need a copy of the contract showing the homeowners signature. Please ensure the owner initials the application where indicated.
If the homeowner is installing the fence on their own, without a contractor, we will need them to sign an Owner/Builder Affidavit. This can be notarized in the office, but please wait to sign the document until you arrive.
